The Food and Agriculture Organization ((FAO) reports that if women farmers gain access to the same resources as their male counterparts, the entire world will eat, too.

Savita Vijay Krishna Ganiger, an agriculturist grows sugarcane crops in the Chinchkund region. Mrs Ganiger was honoured with the Best Youth Farm Award in the Woman category, a testament to her impactful role in the agricultural community. She practices farming besides doing the household work. She is actively involved in cultivating a diverse range of crops across the 11-acre land, including sugarcane, sunflower, coconut trees, marigold, cabbage, maize, and various seasonal plants. She uses a combination of both chemical and organic fertilisers, which have proven to generate better yields.

Mrs Ganiger makes the Jeevamrutha to enhance soil fertility. The practice of soil fertilization by incorporating vermicompost, farmyard manure, and organic manures comprising animal carcasses. She also runs the oil business with her husband. They set up one night a week for their oil plant activities, which involve extracting oil from groundnut, sunflower, and safflower seeds. The local community directly purchases the oil from the facility.

Mrs Ganiger actively supports her children's academic pursuits and acts as an inspiration to them. Her daughter Laxmi Ganiger is especially affected by her mother's commitment to farming. Laxmi expressed her respect and that she hopes to carry on the family's agricultural heritage once she has finished her education. She now actively engages with her parents in a variety of agricultural operations and makes contributions to them.
